1. 443 years ago it was known as Prayag

Yes, Prayagraj has got its name back after 443 years. It was earlier known as Prayag. The name is still used by the local people. King Akbar gave it the name Allahabad. He realized the importance of the city Prayag and built a fort at the river Confluence known as Sangam.  The city got the locational advantage and it went on to become an important junction of East India company

2. Pioneer was Published at Allahabad

At Allahabad Pioneer was published one of the biggest English dailies in India. It was also known for its great Railway system which unites Bengal with Central India and Bombay

3.  Triveni Sangam is one of holiest places in India

Allahabad is located at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. These rivers are known as holiest rivers in the Hindu culture. The beautiful place where these rivers meet is known as Triveni Sangam.

4. Mysterious Hanuman Temple

Kumbh ke mele mai bhai bichaad gye. Ardh Kumbhmela will begin from January 15, 2019, to March 4, 2019. People take part in to get rid of the sins of life. The Maha Kumbh Mela is celebrated in Prayag after 144 years.

It is one of the oldest shops in the city and serves the most authentic samosas of the city. Also, heavenly gulab jamun is another specialty of the city.
